Shot Changes

As recommended by a student during the interview process and after, we decided to include some shots of the protagonists in distress to further the audiences feeling of tension and make them more uncomfortable. as a group we also felt that the montage reaches a point in which the audience knows what is coming and feels comfortable, so by adding these shots of distress (emphasised further by the lack of context) we are able to evoke the viewes concern and distress once more. To make these individual shots stand out we turned them black and white to emphasise a separatin between what is happening with the antagonist in the celler and the girls outside in the 'real world'. We also added noise to the shots- the lack of clarity in the shot reflects the lack of clarity in the plot.

We decided not to add any explanation to the shot. we did this so that the viewer is confused and is able to infer what they wish from the shots. This allows tension to be built up amongst them as they do not know if these shots are memories or what the protagonist is doing currently.
